About Us

The Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth and Families
    Our Mission:
The Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth and Families joins School, Family, and Community in preventing and reducing youth substance use and its negative consequences and in preventing teen suicide.
    More About Us:
The Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth and Families, an anti-drug coalition with members representing all sectors of the community, serves the geographic area of Chippewa Valley Schools and includes parts of Clinton and Macomb Townships in Macomb County, Michigan. The Coalition was re-awarded a federal Drug Free Communities Grant in September 2014 and recognized as the Prevention Organization of the Year for the State of Michigan in 2014.
    Current Coalition Subcommittees:
We thank the many Coalition volunteers and representatives of our community partners that contribute their time and talents to the following subcommittees:
  Youth Alcohol Prevention
  Youth Marijuana Prevention
  Youth Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention
  Elementary Steering
  Business Advisory
  Vape Task Group
  Interfaith/Chippewa Valley Partnership
Youth Involvement – Coalition Teen Councils (CTC)
There is a Coalition Teen Council (CTC) comprised of students at each of the 3 high schools in Chippewa Valley Schools – Chippewa Valley, Dakota, and Mohegan High Schools. Student members of the CTCs initiate drug prevention programming at their schools, engage in outreach to younger students, and provide the “voice of youth” for the Coalition.
