  PARENTS!

The Only Safe Spring Break is Near You!

That’s right. Teens who take Spring Break vacations without adult supervision face all kinds of risks –alcohols and drug use, violence, and inappropriate sexual behavior. The only truly safe Spring Break vacation is near you, the parent. Here’s a list of responses you can give if your son or daughter asks you about going on an unsupervised Spring Break vacation.

“But everyone is going.” - No not everyone is going.

“If I don’t go, everyone will make fun of me.” - No. That’s not likely.

“I’m going away to college next year. What’s the difference?” - I feel more secure about you at a school than on an unsupervised vacation.

  More Tips:

Vacation as a family. More families are doing that.

Work with other parents. Tell them what you’ve decided.

Seek advice from someone whom you trust, a relative, friend, or someone at your place of worship.
